AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Ricardo David said that it will be the decision of policy makers of government to send an AFP contingent to South Korea, in case it is asked.
Although remote in possibility, David said that in case of a foreign attack in our country the AFP is ready to defend the country.
During the Korean War in the 1950's, a Philippine military contingent was sent to South Korea to aid the South Koreans as part of the Allied U.N. contingent.
Among the Filipino soldiers who saw action in the Korean War was then-captain Fidel V. Ramos who later became president . As a young journalist then, former senator Benigno Aquino Jr., the father of the current president, covered the war for the Manila Times.
Meanwhile, President Aquino called for sobriety and an end to hostilities in the Korean Peninsula.We are calling for an end to the provocative actions and calling for sobriety on the two Koreas. The Philippine embassy in Korea is taking precautionary measures to protect Filipino nationals there,” presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said.
Aquino warned North Korea that the Philippines is ready to send military troops again to South Korea if war begins.
For now, the Palace said that there are no plans to evacuate Filipinos in Korea as Philippine Ambassador to Korea Luis Cruz relayed the information that all is still quiet in Korea.
Earlier, President Aquino had said in a text message that he was meeting with relevant officials to come up with a position on the hostilities and has instructed officials to ensure the safety of Filipinos in Korea.
“We will meet regarding North Korea and come up with our position after gathering and evaluating the verified info. Presently working and ensuring safety of our countrymen there,” Aquino said.

ReplyDeletehahaha...baliw ang AFP kasama na ang presidente...hindi na nga nila kaya tapusin ang gulo dito sa sariling bansa natin...tutulong pa sila sa mas malakas na bansa para sa gyera nila...let them resolve their own conflict...ang atupagin sana ng AFP ay yang mga NPA at mga terrorist group na nandito sa bansa...

The ultimate reason why this counntry remain poor compare to other country is because di natin alam ang ugat ng sarili nating lahi. na dapat punag aaralan mabuti para magkaroon ng snese of proudness and confident sa sariling bansa.!so many thing to say but there should be appropriate action for the betterment of all Filipino citizens.!!

ReplyDeletehai nku...i will never trust US...dahil iniisahan lang naman nila ang mga pilipino...like ung gang rape na nangyari noon kay daniel smith...nsaan na ang suspect...?dba nasa japan na at ang naging victim nung rape ngaun nasa amerika na...so how can you trust them...at tingnan naman ninyo ang pangyayari...if north korea at nag palubog ng barko ng south dapat proud sila pero todo tangi nila pero unlike nung pinapaputukan ng north ang south nag respond kaagad sila kung bakit nila ginawa yun...bka nga US pa ang nagpalubog ng barko dahil ung mga time na yun may nagququestin sa american base sa japan so para hindi sila mapa alis like ng ginawa ng pilipinas sa american base dito gumawa sila ng pangyayari na pwede magpanatili sa kanila...dude look 20 something lang yata ang namatay...ang laki nung barko...
